Our mission is to grow the game in our community providing opportunities to play development and competitive football for boys, girls, and adults. We aim to create a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment where players can develop, coaches can thrive, and the club can build a strong, sustainable future for generations to come.
Our club traces its roots back to 1896, originally formed by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Company. After the original club relocated in the 1990s, Horwich RMI AFC was re-established in 1996 by John and Paul Sumner, returning the team to the community. Today we have over 20 teams and over 250 players, we continue to build a full pathway from junior to open-age football.
Our philosophy is to develop players through enjoyable, positive and high-quality coaching. We focus on long-term growth, encouraging confidence, teamwork and learning across all age groups. By creating an inclusive and supportive environment, we give every player a clear pathway to progress and enjoy the game. All our coaches and volunteers are FA qualified and DBS certified.
